Chowan University's Carroll Resigns -  David Hodge
Chowan University has announced the resignation of Head Baseball Coach Aaron Carroll. Carroll has accepted a coaching position at Dawson Community College, located in Glendive, Montana. In his seven seasons as skipper of the Hawks, Carroll compiled a record of 190-143-2. His 190 coaching victories are the most since Chowan became a four-year institution (1992). He led the 2011 Hawks to a CIAA regular season championship after amassing a 25-3 conference record. He was also named CIAA Coach of the Year last season.
Taylor Furlough Promoted to Head Baseball Coach - David Hodge
Taylor Furlough has been named Head Baseball Coach at Chowan University. Furlough, who has been an assistant for the past four seasons, takes over for Aaron Carroll, who resigned earlier in the week.

Stillman third baseman Josiah Yance and Tuskegee outfielder Cameron Duncan have been named SIAC West Division Co-Players of the Week while Stillman left-hander Josh Cagle was named SIAC West Division Pitcher of the Week.

ETTRICK, VA – Ryan Moore hit his sixth home run of the season and earned a win on the mound as the Chowan University baseball team swept Virginia State University on Monday. With the wins (5-2 and 10-5), the Hawks clinched the CIAA regular season title and extended their winning streak to 15 games. Chowan finishes with a 29-14 record on the season and 25-3 in CIAA play.

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore baseball Alumni team topped the 2011 Hawks, 15-6, at Hawks Stadium Saturday. Brian White ('09) pitched three innings to earn the win on the mound for the Alumni. The Alumni struck first in the first with a lone run to start the scoring. The UMES team headed by assistant coaches Eric Armstrong and Robbie Bailey, answered in the bottom of the frame to knot the game, 1-1.

Virginia State University's John Bivens, was drafted in the 12th Round of todays MLB Draft. Bivens was the 369th pick overall by the Milwaukee Brewers. Bivens batted .293 with 5 triples, 5 home runs, 33 RBIs, and made 16 of 20 attempted stolen bases for  Senior John Bivens (Prince George, VA) transferred to Virginia State University in 2009 after playing baseball and football for University of Virginia.

Mervyl Melendez, head coach of the Bethune-Cookman baseball team, is this week's BCA's Coach of the Week. Melendez has led Bethune-Cookman to a 19-13 regular season record with a 6-0 record in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).  B-CU Photo

GREENSBORO, May 13, 2008 – Fifth-year senior Jeremy Jones is ending his career with some reminders. The reminders start with nudging people’s memories on why he will be remembered as one of the best hitters to ever wear an North Carolina A&T baseball uniform and they end with recollections of him hitting .402 in 2005 as a sophomore.
